In a rescue operation, Western Cape police successfully located and freed a 34-year-old businessman who had been kidnapped from a supermarket last week.
The incident occurred in Kuilsrivier, where robbers targeted the establishment, not only abducting the businessman but also making off with cigarettes, smoking equipment, and a significant sum of cash.

Brig. Novela Potelwa, the police spokesperson, announced that the team’s swift action led to the arrest of eleven suspects involved in the heinous crime.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of law enforcement, the kidnapped businessman was safely reunited with his loved ones.

“All available leads were followed up which led to the arrest of a total of ten suspects. Further investigation into the matter led the multidisciplinary team to an address in Tamrisk Street, Delft, where they found the 34-year-old hostage, rescued him and a suspect was subsequently arrested” said Potelwa.
The suspects are aged between 22 and 43 and will appear in the Blue Downs magistrate’s court on Monday.
