The African National Congress (ANC) is considering its options following the dismissal of its appeal by the High Court in Johannesburg.
The appeal was against a previous ruling that ordered the ANC to provide its cadre deployment records to the Democratic Alliance (DA).

The court ruled on Tuesday that there was no reasonable chance of success in an appeal and upheld the earlier ruling.
The initial ruling required the ANC to release its complete national cadre deployment committee records dating back to January 1, 2013, within five days.
The DA MP Leon Schreiber who had made an application under the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) in 2021, argues that the ruling obliges the ANC to hand over the records within five days.
However, it remains uncertain whether the DA will receive the ANC’s records by the end of the week.

ANC Spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri told SABC News that the party is currently examining the judgment and studying the full text to understand its implications.
The party is also seeking advice from its legal counsel regarding possible legal actions, which it plans to provide more details about in the near future.
