Missing Mangosuthu University of Technology lecturer Clanlall Dwarika, who was abducted by three men in the Sea Cow Lake area last Sunday, has been found dead.
Dwarika’s body was discovered in a bush in Inanda on Saturday, according to Response Unit South Africa.
A 22-year-old suspect who confessed to being picked up by his two friends driving Dwarika’s vehicle allegedly led investigators and the security personnel to Dwarika’s remains.
The 61-year-old man, also known as Shan, is said to have been kidnapped outside his home.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage. “Rusa, together with Detective Unit from Greenwood Park, worked on the case of the missing person since last Sunday,” says Rusa’s Prem Balram.
“On CCTV footage Dwarika can be seen being forced into his SUV by three unknown suspects. He has not been seen since. During the investigations, two suspects were arrested and detained.
“The body was pointed out yesterday afternoon and was recovered by the police after a brief search. Investigations are continuing.”
The police say the suspects have been charged with murder.
