Dr. Mmereka Patience Martha Ntshani, also known as “Dr Pashy,” says Thabo Bester defrauded her of millions when he promised the doctor a connection to Oprah Winfrey, a US talk show host.
Dr Pashy said in an exclusive interview with Chriselda Lewis on SABC Television that she has filed a fraud case against both the convicted rapist and his accused accomplice, Dr Nandipha Magudumana.
Dr. Pashy’s former close friend stole her passports, which were discovered in her possession when she was arrested with Bester in Tanzania in April.
Dr. Pashy said she met Magudumana on social media in 2015 because they had interests in religion, family, and business.
Their friendship began with Instagram direct messages and proceeded to WhatsApp discussions.
Magudumana approached Dr. Pashy with a business proposal for her international marketing organisation, which was run by TK Nkwana.
Dr Pashy soon noticed that TK Nkwana was the legendary criminal mastermind Thabo Bester.
Magudumana gave over Dr Pashy’s contact information to “TK Nkwana,” and months of cryptic conversations occurred, during which Dr Pashy was promised access to Oprah Winfrey.
Dr. Pashy signed a deal with Bester and Maguduman’s company, Vibes International, on the promise of seeing one of her role models and idols.
“He introduced himself to me as TK Nkwana, a South African businessman who is now living and based in London. He said he was part of the team responsible for bringing Oprah Winfrey to South Africa for the Global Citizen concert,” she said.
Dr. Pashy was intrigued to the concept of expanding her business with Oprah’s influence, which is how Bester and Magudumana defrauded her of millions.
The famous doctor claims she cannot reveal how much money was paid to Bester and Magudumana because the case is still being investigated.
Dr. Pashy did, however, confirm that she has filed criminal charges against both Bester and Magudumana.
“I trusted Dr Nandipha Magudumana, because she is a doctor and I expected her to uphold the same values as I do. I can’t disclose how much was paid at this point because the matter is still under investigation.
Police are still checking the movement of that money, which was paid to both parties over time. I’m still in consultation with the lawyers in terms of the criminal charge. I laid a criminal case and we are busy with the civil case to try to recover the funds. I can confirm that yes, it was millions.”
Dr Pashy said she never expected Dr Nandipha to betray her, as they both are in careers that’s built on trust and reputation.
