Over the weekend, Elon Musk implemented tweet reading limits on Twitter to combat data scraping, causing widespread issues for users of the popular TweetDeck platform.
Many users are now reporting significant problems, including failed notifications and incomplete column loading.

Initially, Musk enforced a limit of 6,000 daily tweets for verified users and 600 for unverified users. However, these restrictions were later increased to 10,000 and 1,000 tweets respectively.
The impact of these limitations appears to be more pronounced within TweetDeck due to its simultaneous loading of multiple tweet columns.
Regarding the future of TweetDeck, the latest official information dates back to June 2022, when the Mac app was shut down by Twitter prior to Musk’s involvement with the company.
Twitter had mentioned testing a new web app version of TweetDeck in select regions, but no updates have been provided since then. Speculation persists about Twitter potentially converting TweetDeck into a paid feature.

In addition to Musk’s actions, Twitter recently imposed restrictions on viewing tweets without a login, aiming to prevent data scraping by individuals or companies seeking to train AI models.
Musk justified these measures as temporary emergency measures, explaining that Twitter was experiencing data breaches that were negatively impacting user experience. However, these measures have also hindered user experience, affecting both regular and verified users who quickly reach their rate limits.
