Limpopo police have made an arrest in the house robbery and double murder of a hotel owner and her nephew in Orighstad, outside Burgersfort.
The burnt bodies of Angela Claasen (73) and nephew Hennie Classen (77) were discovered at the establishment on 4 June.
A 30-year-old man, a former employee at the hotel, was arrested in connection with the double homicide.
According to Malesela Ledwaba, a police spokesperson, the suspect was arrested in Tembisa.
“The team followed information which led to the arrest of the suspect in the early hours of today, 14 June at about 01:00 at his hideout in Tembisa, Gauteng. The suspect is an ex-employee at the hotel and was positively linked to the incident.”
“The suspect is expected to appear soon before the Prakteseer Magistrate’s Court facing charges of house robbery, two counts of murder and arson.”
