Actress Connie Ferguson shared a touching message to her daughter Alicia Ferguson on her 21st birthday.
Connie, known for her role in Generations, posted on Instagram about Alicia’s journey from birth to the present day.
“21 years ago, I was at Parklane Clinic preparing to receive one of God’s greatest gifts. As I write this, I remember that morning vividly – the anxiety, excitement, and anticipation! I couldn’t wait to hold you! Your dad was with me every step of the way!
“When you arrived, he cut your umbilical cord and held you first before placing you on my chest. I marvelled at how beautiful and perfect you were! And you have been for the past 21 years!” Connie wrote.
She continued by saying that Alicia resembles her late husband, Shona Ferguson. Connie also emphasized how Alicia has been a source of strength and support for her.
“Dando, Bombo, Sho’s Duplicate, Miss ‘my daddy’s gonna fix my teeth!’ I thank God for you every day! I can’t believe my baby, my last-born, is 21 today! Watching you grow has been my favourite activity.
“I thank God for your life, heart, mind, spirit and old soul! You have been my rock through the worst times! I sometimes wonder where your strength, courage and wisdom come from. Then I remember your middle name is Angel! And that’s what you have been to us and anyone fortunate enough to meet you,” she added.
Connie concluded her message with birthday wishes for Alicia on her special 21st birthday and the assurance that her late father, Shona, was watching over her.
“I love you so much, Alicia Angel Ferguson, and I am proud that you chose your Dad and me as your parents. He is smiling and celebrating you from heaven. ‘That’s my seed!’ I can hear him brag!
“You wear him well and wear God well. May God continue to guide your steps and protect and bless you with all your heart desires. HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY, MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL!” she wrote.
