SAPS in Manenberg have initiated an investigation following the shooting of a young boy in Cape Flats.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 9, shortly before 1 pm when a bullet struck a nine-year-old boy in the head.

Captain Frederick van Wyk, the provincial police spokesperson, confirmed that a case of attempted murder is currently under investigation.
“Manenberg SAPS has opened an attempted murder case for investigation following an incident in Towerkop, Manenberg, on Sunday at approximately 12:30 pm.
A nine-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to the head,” he stated.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unknown and are being actively investigated. The child was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Disturbing videos of the injured boy lying on the sidewalk circulated on social media, prompting local residents to provide assistance as quickly as possible.

However, it is presently unclear whether the shooting is connected to gang-related activities.
