South African musician Nkosazana Daughter, who has gained a massive following on TikTok, recently found herself at the centre of a heated debate.
Known for her viral Bhebha dance challenge, Nkosazana knows how to keep her fans engaged. However, her latest dancing video seemed to divide opinions among her followers.
One fan, clearly unimpressed with her performance, left a comment advising Nkosazana not to try too hard. They wrote, “…ngiyacela sisi dont try too hard abantu they love you for who you are.”
This comment seemed to strike a nerve with Nkosazana, who responded with harsh words. “The problem with people like u is that u think we’re not human,” she fired back.
“For that, we must be robots. No lala, I don’t do anything to please no one, just having fun.”
Nkosazana’s response ignited a war of words among her fans, with many clashing over their differing opinions. Some came to her defence, expressing their support and admiration for her work. One fan tweeted, “u did well. Ppl feel too entitled. I mean, they can have an opinion, but people need to draw the line at some point.”
Others expressed their surprise at Nkosazana’s dance skills, with one fan exclaiming, “Damn Nkosazana, this is giving! I like your work but didn’t think you could dance.” However, there were also those who believed that as a celebrity, Nkosazana should live to please people.
The debate took an interesting turn when a fan pointed out the pressure celebrities face. ‘Nah, that’s for people, not you,’ they tweeted. “Y’all don’t post because you’re happy! With the way y’all rely on your physical appearance for followers and stuff.”
Ultimately, it’s clear that opinions on Nkosazana’s dancing skills are divided. Some appreciate her unique style and support her right to express herself freely. On the other hand, there are those who expect more from her as a public figure.
