Pitso Mosimane was named the new head coach of Al Wahda FC in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday.
Mosimane was in Johannesburg earlier on Saturday for the inauguration of his Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools project, but he made no mention of the Al Wahda post to the assembled media, merely confirming that he will not take over as Kaizer Chiefs’ next head coach.
‘Jingles’ left Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia at the end of the season despite leading the team to promotion to the Saudi Premier League.
“Al Wahda FC Company has signed with the South African Technical Director Pitso Mosimane to lead the first team as a Head Coach,” read a statement from the UAE club late on Saturday night.
“The Club’s Board of Directors welcomes Mr Mosimane to the Home of Champion; wishing him success in serving the club’s leadership, administration and fans’ ambitions.”

Mosimane succeeds Dutch coach Arno Buitenweg at Wahda, who finished third in the UAE Pro League this season, losing out on a spot in next season’s AFC Champions League.
The Wahda side is largely composed of locals, but there are a few Brazilians among them, including Allan, who has previously played for Napoli in Serie A and Everton in the English Premier League.
