The talented Sithenkosi Mbuli recently wowed fans at the renowned North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, Netherlands – Vuyo Mbuli must be looking down with pride.
This annual festival usually held in July, attracts music enthusiasts from around the world.
Making his international debut this past weekend – on Saturday – the young South African singer-songwriter joined the live band, The Nest, during their performance at the festival’s Mississippi Terrace.
Sithenkosi Mbuli showcased his exceptional guitar skills and mesmerizing vocals, earning immense appreciation from the diverse crowd.
He also treated the audience to a sneak preview of his upcoming release scheduled for August.
In an exclusive interview with SurgeZirc SA, Sthenkosi, also known as Rudy Chalmers, described this experience as the highlight of his career, an unforgettable moment.
“It feels surreal. I never imagined that I would be performing at an international festival so early in my music journey,” he expressed.
Sithenkosi seamlessly fit into the music-loving jazz festival alongside The Nest, sharing the stage with esteemed artists like Stormy, Seal, Gregory Porter, Loyle Carner, and Olivia Dean throughout the weekend.
Feeling inspired by the opportunity, Sithenkosi is determined to make the most of this exposure.
During his time in Europe, Sithenkosi plans to connect with influential individuals in the industry, using this experience as a stepping stone to further his musical aspirations.
“The world is my oyster now. “I will utilise this opportunity to do better, during my time in Europe I will make sure that I connect with the right and relevant people,” he adds.
