A 26-year-old suspect has been apprehended in connection with the shooting of three people in Mitchell’s Plain by the Western Cape anti-gang squad.
The incident occurred on Friday, and authorities are still looking for two more suspects.
According to police accounts, the suspects broke into a residence in Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain, and fired numerous bullets at the victims.
The three murdered victims ranged in age from 14 to 46.
Two more people, aged 15 to 18, received serious injuries and were brought to the hospital.
Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa said investigations were underway.
“Western Cape anti-gang unit is investigating a triple murder and two attempted murders.”
The shooting follows another shooting at Langa Taxi Rank on Friday, in which two persons were killed.
An unrelated shooting occurred earlier last week three police officers were shot and injured while responding to a heist at a mall in Nyanga municipality.
