The High Court in Bloemfontein has granted bail to three co-accused individuals involved in the case of Thabo Bester, who is known as the Facebook rapist and murderer.

They are accused of assisting Bester in his escape from the Mangaung Correctional Centre in May of the previous year.
The three individuals had appealed to the High Court to overturn the decision made by the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court, which had initially denied them bail.
The High Court ruled in their favor, stating, “The appeal is accepted, and the magistrate’s decision to refuse bail is overturned. However, bail is granted to the appellants in the amount of R10,000, pending the outcome of the trial. The appellants are required to appear in the Bloemfontein magistrate’s court on all scheduled trial dates.”
In addition, the judgement stipulates certain conditions for their bail.
