Two individuals are currently in critical condition after an alleged cash-in-transit heist took place on Warwick Avenue in Durban CBD on Monday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 8am, prompting a swift response from ALS Paramedics Medical Services and the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Upon arrival at the scene, ALS Paramedics Medical Services found that SAPS were already present. Two security officers were discovered with multiple gunshot wounds; their conditions deemed critical.
The paramedics immediately began working to stabilise both men before transporting them to a nearby Durban Hospital for the urgent care they required.
Tragically, one alleged suspect sustained fatal injuries, and despite the paramedics’ efforts, he was declared deceased at the scene.
The exact sequence of events leading up to the incident remains unknown at this stage. However, SAPS are actively investigating the matter to uncover further details.
