Two police officers from Limpopo have been arrested on corruption charges at the Beitbridge Border Post with Zimbabwe.
The arrest took place on Monday as part of a sting operation conducted by the Provincial Anti-Corruption Unit.

The officers allegedly demanded an R2,000 bribe in exchange for releasing a motorist’s traffic registration certificate.
Malesela Ledwaba, the police spokesperson, stated that the complainant reported the officers who had requested money.
The case was promptly transferred to the Provincial Anti-Corruption Team for further investigation.
The sting operation resulted in the arrest of the two officers after they received marked money, which was found in their possession.

Additionally, one of the suspects was found with the traffic registration certificate.
The suspects are scheduled to appear in the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, facing charges of corruption.
