The incident took place outside a shared apartment in the Cape Town area. According to witnesses, a heated argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the wife sustaining multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Videos of the attack have since been circulating on social media. Blood can be seen pouring onto the ground as the female student lies on the floor.
As news of the incident spread, the CPUT community came together to address the issue of domestic violence and ensure the safety of their own students. The university held an emergency meeting with students, faculty, and staff to discuss the incident and its implications.
The meeting focused on creating a safe environment for students and raising awareness about the importance of healthy relationships. CPUT’s counseling services were made available to students who needed support or guidance in dealing with the incident.
Ntembeko Myalo was arrested by the police shortly after the incident and is currently facing charges of domestic violence and attempted murder. If found guilty, he could face severe legal consequences.
