Accused number five, Sfisokuhle Ntuli, stands at the center of the trial and is represented by Advocate Zandile Mshololo.
Steyn was enlisted to analyze the cell phone data of individuals present when Meyiwa was tragically shot and killed in 2014.
However, Steyn faced a hurdle when it came to Kelly Khumalo’s phone data.
He explained to the court on Thursday that her phone had allegedly been stolen by one of the two intruders, preventing him from accessing her information.
During his testimony, Steyn revealed that Meyiwa’s then-girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, had received a phone call from Sfisokuhle Ntuli on 2 August 2014.
Another call from Ntuli was made a week before Meyiwa’s untimely passing on 15 October 2014.
The court’s state prosecutor, Adv George Baloyi, sought to clarify the details of the calls, confirming that the second party involved was indeed suspect number five, Ntuli.
The call to Khumalo from Ntuli was traced to the 3G Kimberley vicinity.
