The book offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the lives of these public figures and the challenges they faced.
It is worth noting that the release of the book coincides with the ongoing inquest into Anele Tembe’s death and the murder charges against the seven men accused of killing AKA.
This timing adds another layer of complexity to the already controversial subject matter. The book’s release may potentially impact these legal proceedings and public opinion surrounding the cases.
“When Love Kills” goes beyond the surface-level celebrity gossip and delves into the serious topics of abuse and tragedy. The book aims to shed light on the dynamics of toxic relationships and the devastating consequences they can have.
By examining the lives of AKA and Anele, the author hopes to raise awareness about the importance of recognising and addressing abusive behaviour.
Meanwhile, in a statement on her Facebook account, Melinda confirmed that she had interviewed Moses as part of her research.
She said: “Over the past fortnight, there has been much confusion around the participation of Moses Tembe, Anele Tembe’s father, in my book, When Love Kills.
“Moses sat down with me after I approached him to discuss the untimeous loss of his daughter and his deep grief. It is absolutely true, as his spokesperson stated, that he did not commission the book, or make any form of financial contribution, or compensate the project in any way.
“Moses voluntarily agreed to talk to me about the life of his beloved daughter, Anele.”
Moses Tembe told Melinda Ferguson that he has “strong evidence” suggesting his daughter did not jump to her death.
According to his account in When Love Kills, he received a preliminary police report relating to her death on the eve of his daughter’s funeral.
In this report, he found evidence that strongly suggests that it was not a suicide. In fact, he believes that there is a 99% chance that his daughter did not kill herself.
The Tembe family also documented the “evidence” they believe shows that AKA had “pushed” Anele off the balcony, in a leaked letter to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
According to the Citizen, the letter had damning accusations against AKA and his alleged involvement in Anele’s death.
Sharing his “theory” in the book, Moses Tembe said: “I believe Anele ended the relationship with him [AKA] … Controlling men can’t handle women who stand up to them”.
Apparently, Melinda Ferguson conducted interviews with several people close to the couple, but many of them chose not to be named “out of fear.”se to the couple, but many of them chose not to be named “out of fear.”
However, one person who bravely spoke out was Rob Stefanutto, a businessman from Cape Town. He witnessed the tragic incident that occurred on the morning of April 11, 2023, when Anele Tembe fell to her death from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel.
According to Rob’s account, AKA and Anele were arguing before her fall, and Anele was loudly screaming, “Leave me alone! Get away from me!” Rob administered CPR to Anele and called paramedics for assistance, but AKA did not come to see his fiancée as she lay dying.
When Rob tried to make a statement to the police, they did not help him. Instead, Moses Tembe’s attorney assisted him in writing a statement. Unfortunately, Rob does not know what happened to his statement after that.
